Marble mountains is located 9km South of Danang city center, on the famous beachfront boulevard Truong Sa, right on the street along My Khe beach to Hoi An. Marble mountains is located on the yellow sand - bank with 2 kilometers length, 800 meters width. It is one of the most popular attractions of Da nang city.   Marble mountains ( Ngu Hanh son) is a group of five marble and limestone mountains, named after the five elements of the ancient oriental philosophy: metal (Kim son), wood (Moc Son), water(Thuy Son), fire( Hoa Son) and earth(Tho Son).
Mountain of water (Thuy Son) is the largest and most famous of the five mountains comprising marble mountains of Da Nang, with several caves, caverns, pagodas and 2 viewpoints with some spectacular views of Danang city and the coast with the sea of China in the background. Thuy Son is home to several Buddhist and Hindu grottoes. There is also a large Pagoda called Tam Thai, built in 1825.


A popular place for spiritual retreat and pilgrimage is composed of several pagodas Buddhist, remnants of the Champa civilization and caves inside the mountains, natural caves formed by erosion, water and the passage of time. According to ancient folklore, a dragon emerged from the water on Non Nuoc Beach and laid an egg. A thousand days and a thousand nights followed before the egg hatched, and out stepped a beautiful girl. The fragments of the shell were left on the beach and eventually grew into the five mystical Marble Mountains.


These mountains have a complicated system of caves and tunnels. In the past, they were used as hiding places and important basis for the Vietnam revolutionaries. Today, one of the most popular highlights is climbing up the Marble Mountains and enjoying spectacular views across Non Nuoc, also known as China Beach.
The Marble Mountains are famous for their traditional stone engraving activities. In Dong Hai village close to Thuy Son, 600 families chisel stone producing statues, jewelry, and art work. Stone from the Marble Mountains has been exported to many countries.


The ticket for Marble Mountains is only 15.000 vnd. If you use an elevator, you have to pay 35.000vnd. However, if you like exploring the beauty of nature and are strong enough to climb up the steps to the mountains, let's try your best to conquer it. The scenery on the top of the mountain is really beautiful and worth climbing. Remember to take some good shoes because it's a long climb. Bring a camera and some water, it will be a long hot day but memories for your lifetime.
